Agreement between ITS Academy G. Caboto and Assarmatori

Activate a mutual and constant exchange of information with the aim of creating integrated and targeted training courses aimed at operators in the maritime, port and logistics sectors to provide skills in step with the continuous professional and technological evolution of the sector.

This is the objective of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ITS Academy Fondazione G. Caboto, which operates with the aim of contributing to responding to the training needs not only of shipping, but of the entire economic sector that develops around the sea, and Assarmatori, an association belonging to Conftrasporto-Confcommercio which represents Italian, European Union and third country shipowners who carry out maritime services in Italy.

The ITS Academy Fondazione G. Caboto, within the scope of the Protocol, undertakes to guarantee the quality of classroom training, with laboratory activities, use of adequate equipment for exercises, evaluation and certification of the skills possessed and acquired by the trainees, with trainers coming from the world of work and professions (at least 60%) characterized by documented professional skills, including experts chosen by Assarmatori. The latter, for its part, will promote boarding periods for deserving students based on the skills acquired during the training course and their commitment to learning, in the forms and conditions provided for by the current collective bargaining of the sector and by the relevant regulations.

“Human resources – underlines Stefano Messina, President of Assarmatori – represent the main asset for important industrial sectors but in maritime transport they stand out as the true added value of every company. From this perspective, there are many initiatives that we have activated and the collaboration with the ITS Academy Fondazione G. Caboto represents a further and fundamental step, thanks to which we continue to invest in people, in their training and in their professional growth”.

“Training and attention to the talents and skills of young people is the real challenge to guarantee a path towards knowing how to do and knowing how to work. It is a goal that we have achieved today, with commitment and passion, together with all the actors of this extraordinary project, which with the signing of this protocol is enriched with an important added value, so as to push us towards new goals, for our young people and for the growth of our country”, adds Cesare d’Amico, President of the ITS Academy G. Caboto Foundation.
